Full-time Instructor, Aviation Technology

Job Summary:

Primary responsibility is to instruct aviation technology courses. Flight instruction and stage checks will be a secondary responsibility. Instructor must be available to teach day and/or evening classes. Assist in the development and/or modification of curriculum to meet changing technology in the aviation industry, as well as new courses and/or programs. Assist Program Chair or Academic Dean as necessary with monitoring and maintaining simulators and flight trainers. Participate in student evaluations, advising, registration, and recruiting and retention activities. Must participate in department, division, and college activities while complying with college and FAA policies, procedures, and mandates. Stay current in professional areas by participating in professional development activities. Maintain contact with FAA and aviation industry as directed by Program Chair. Assist the Program Chair with evaluation and selection of textbooks and course materials. Support implementation of college and departmental missions and goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Chair or Academic Dean.

2. Develop and refine curriculum as necessary to maintain currency in pedagogy and content.
3. Engage in professional development to maintain currency in field of expertise.
4. Adopt new teaching methodologies as appropriate or as designated by Department Chair or Academic Dean.
5. Fulfill departmental and College service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or to community groups.
6. Work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
7. Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities.
8. Assist the department in program and curriculum review, revision, development and assessment of learning.
9. Assist the department in the evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resources and materials.
10. Work toward fulfillment of the Colleges mission and purposes and implement department, division, and/or institutional goals as assigned.
11. Provide competent advising to students seeking the Associate of Arts
12. Collaborate in the development and implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments of learning for students in Communication courses.
13. Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
14. Demonstrate a willingness to embrace and apply the provisions of the Colleges Mission Statement, Purpose, Philosophy and commitment to diversity.
15. Attend Division meetings and COM department meetings.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Academic Dean.

1. Work toward fulfillment of Aims Community Colleges mission and purposes and implement department, division, and/or instructional goals as assigned.
2. Participate in institutional and department recruitment and retention activities.
3. Participate in implementation of institutional goals and objectives in collaboration with other departments and programs of the institution.
4. Participate in Greeley and Loveland Campus planning and activities.
5. Initiate and maintain liaison relationships with external agencies, businesses and other institutions as necessary.
6. Must be able to fulfill these minimum responsibilities of full-time faculty at Aims:
a. Provide effective and high quality instruction.
b. Provide competent academic advising to students.
c. Develop and refine curricula as necessary to maintain currency in instruction (design, delivery, technology and content).
d. Engage in on-going professional development.
e. Fulfill college service requirements by making meaningful contributions that advance college goals.
f. Maintain office hours as assigned.
7. Be willing to take methods courses to enhance course delivery.
8. Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.

FAA certificates:
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot ASEL
Certified Flight Instructor Airplane
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane
Multi-Engine Instructor Airplane
Bachelor Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
