Here's a little bit about the author and his blog in his own words:

"Hello and thank you for checking out my blog where I love to share my passion for aviation and especially the airline industry. I had no idea when I started this blog in July 2008 that I would be where I am now. I still call myself an airline outsider, but I have been called an 'expert' by quite a few folks who seem to know what they are talking about. I know I still have much to learn and I look forward to sharing it with readers.

I have been flying since I was a young child " my first flight was when I was six months old, strapped in a baby seat in the back of a Bonanza. I have been blogging since 1999 before 'blog' was a known word.

There are many negative voices about the airline business out there and I try to provide the context behind the stories. Many people see airlines as an 'evil' business and that flying 'is not like it used to be.' I try to remind folks that flying is still a magical experience and flying is not like the way it used to be; in many cases it is better. You have safer and more comfortable planes, you can fly across the country for just a few hundred bucks and there are so many more destinations. The airline business is extremely complicated and of course things are going to go wrong from time to time, that doesn't always mean airlines should be hated.

My blog doesn't try to follow the constant daily financial status of airlines, route changes, travel deals or other similar details (there are other great blogs out there that do that). I try to follow the airline industry in a way that is interesting to those who work and/or have an interest in the airline business. I try to keep it simple, exciting and even throw in a few jokes from time to time. I am lucky to get amazing opportunities and while other media outlets will just report the story, I also try to report what happens behind the scenes."
